The project consists of refurbishing a home in the neighborhood of Tlacopac San Ángel. The ambition is to re-program a 2 bedroom apartment on one floor, into a house with 2 floors, recording studio, yoga room, suite and roof garden, with the intention of expanding the garden area downstairs.
The design language seeks clean lines and the neutrality of the elements in their natural condition, white walls, windows, domes, natural color woodwork, a deck intervened by elements of spatial continuity for its everyday use and minimal maintenance.
The house revolves around a patio that comes from the original structure as a focal point between the ground floor, double height, and second floor.
In terms of sustainability, we implemented several measures: reduction of energy consumption in the house based on orientation, lighting, and natural ventilation, thus providing thermal comfort to the living spaces. Re-conditioning green areas with controlled irrigation; rainwater harvesting; agglomerated recycled material with rice husk (renewable fiber) and polyethylene for the deck on terrace; recycling existing structure and materials for the expansion on the second floor; use of the fifth facade to double the green footprint on the site.
